VancouverĀ“s oldest and only marathon dates back to 1972, when a small group of volunteers organized the first Vancouver Marathon. Today, the event is organized by the Vancouver International Marathon Society, who relies on support from over 4,000 volunteers and many more contributors to achieve its mission and vision.
