London Marathon was established in 1981. More than 20.000 runners are applying for participation already the first year, and London Marathon is quickly becoming one of the biggest and most popular marathon-events in the world.
The route is flat and fast. It starts around Blackheath, goes around the River Thames and across the famous Tower Bridge. The finish line is at The Mall.
London Marathon is divided into the following groups: elite women, wheelchair, elite men and "mass marathon".
The time limit is 7 hours.
