Honolulu Marathon in Honolulu, Hawaii, was held for the first time in 1973 and grew quickly. Today around 25.000 participate in the race each year, and it is one of the largest marathon races in the world.
Normally marathon races as large as this have some kind of qualification limit and limits on numbers of runners, but not Honolulu Marathon. Here anyone willing to pay the entry fee can participate.
Furthermore, there is no time limit, so Honolulu is a popular choice among first-timers. A lot of runners from Japan (often more than 50% of the total participants) come to Hawaii to join the race because they don´t have a lot of open marathon races in their native country.
The course is known to be rather difficult due to the tropical weather conditions.
At Boost Marathon we work hard to ensure correct information, but please check all facts with the organizers before making any arrangements.
