Auckland Marathon

Auckland Marathon is a great city race in New Zealand. Explore all race facts below and sign up for a free runner analysis.

The very first Auckland Marathon was held in 1936, but the annual marathon as we know it today started in 2008. More than 10.000 runners participate in New Zealands premier road race every year. Both the full marathon and half marathon are sold out just a few weeks after launch.

The participants in Auckland Marathon must cross the iconic "Auckland-Harbour-Bridge" with a spectacular view. That involves a 33 metres climb to the highest point. The finish line is at Victoria Park. The first half of the route can be described as “rolling” while the second half (other than two road bridges) is flat.
